Building Team Skills

This is a non-contact, non-tackle, skill building program designed to have; 1. FUN, 2. get exercise, and 3. to build team skills which will be valuable throughout life.  The main emphasis will be for the young people who want to have fun learning a new sport while developing team player skills, eye-hand coordination, self-confidence in athletic abilities, and enhance other social skills in a young person’s life.

Sportsmanship, support of teammates, and friendship bonds on the field of play and are the main goals for this introductory program.

This program is supported by the United States Rugby Football Union that understands the importance of youth development in the U.S.

Hanover Youth Rugby Club is also supported by the Virginia Rugby Union, James River RFC, and United States Rugby Football Foundation by providing resources, grants, and experience from players, Coaches, and Administrative personnel.

2008 is the fourth year for this program that is also a member of the Hanover County Park and Recreation system as supported by the use of equipment and grounds.

Practice and Games!

Practice will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 pm sharp rain or shine!   If the weather is too bad to play outside we will attempt an alternative site to meet anyway and discuss game plans.

Practice sessions will be about one hour each day.

Every weekend we will have a game session either home or away.  Everyone that can, will play!

We need coaches who can donate time with no rugby experience necessary!
